SHIDFF Introduction
As an event initiated by a voluntary organization, we are proud to announce the successful hosting of the first-ever Chinese Deaf-led Film and Arts Festival in Shanghai from September 21st to 23rd, 2018. Our aim is to promote the social inclusion of Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals through the power of film and arts.
The Shanghai International Deaf Film and Arts Festival provides a unique platform for Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals from China and around the world to showcase, share, and celebrate their creative works. Through collaboration with the education sector and media, we offer training opportunities to foster the development
of Deaf creative talents who contribute to the realization of the Chinese dream.
By engaging in thought-provoking workshops and engaging with industry professionals, participants of the festival have the opportunity to gain valuable insights into Deaf culture and film production. Our goal is to expand the accessibility of film resources and drive the advancement of Deaf representation in the film industry.
Building upon the success of the inaugural Shanghai International Deaf Film Festival, we are excited to present the second edition of the festival. This global platform will enable Deaf artists and filmmakers from around the world to showcase and share their creative works. Through collaboration with the education sector and media,
the festival will provide even more learning opportunities for Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals. Participants can engage in creative, artistic, and educational seminars that offer a comprehensive understanding of Deaf culture and film production.
The Shanghai International Deaf Film and Arts Festival eagerly awaits your participation! Together, let us create a vibrant celebration of creativity and artistry, showcasing the talent of Deaf individuals and inspiring a wider range of film resources.
