Many of our volunteer opportunities provide valuable experience in all areas that the Shanghai International Deaf Film Festival also develops, the backbone of deaf culture! At the Shanghai International Deaf Film Festival, the tradition of "fully operated by volunteers" has been maintained. Volunteers are partners and family members. what are we going to do?
The Shanghai International Deaf Film Festival aims to promote social inclusion for the deaf and hearing impaired through the power of film art. Enhance self-identity, self-confidence, equality, and dignity of the deaf, and enhance the social visibility and tolerance of the deaf culture. The Shanghai International Deaf Film Festival is a non-profit community event organized entirely by volunteers. All activities are free and open to everyone. Open deaf creative dreamers will be highly appreciated, and at the same time establish a good relationship with the global deaf week festival to promote deaf cultural exchanges.

Volunteer work requirements of Shanghai International Deaf Film Festival
Responsible, focused, careful and proactive, creative, thoughtful, willing to support various activities;
Able to complete work efficiently in a relatively short time, and be able to set aside at least 10 hours a week to assist in the promotion of activities;
Having Chinese-English bilingual and Chinese sign language communication skills is better, and the ability to master more languages will add points;
Elderly people with one skill (such as translation, design, camera, post-production, self-media operation, etc.) are better;
Experience in organizing exhibitions, large-scale events and outdoor events is preferred

Responsible for cooperation development and communication with global filmmakers and deaf organizations

Responsible for the registration, selection, liaison, etc. of the short film unit of the festival

Have relevant work experience in the film industry, or a certain researcher on deaf theories

Responsible for the detailed arrangements for the landing of the film festival activities
Excellent planning ability
Excellent communication skills
Media service
Responsible for media information registration and sorting; media certificate and ticketing services; news center management and press conference media reception; new media production and operation; short video editing and production.
Good communication skills and adaptability; proficiency in office software; news, network and new media, radio and television editing and directing majors are preferred; proficient in using new media typesetting tools, image processing and production and video editing software is preferred, such as PS/AI , Xiumi, PR, etc.
Forum liaison and implementation
Responsible for guest liaison and itinerary arrangement, reception coordination; publicity execution, graphic data sorting; activities on-site execution assistance, etc.
Familiar with guest reception, event execution, publicity, etc.; strong communication and organization and coordination skills; fluent sign language, strong reading and writing skills; experience in conference work reception, large-scale event implementation and copywriting promotion experience, and PS/AI/AE software Whoever has priority.
Deaf International Interpreter Sign Language Staff
Responsible for guest liaison and itinerary arrangements, reception coordination; on-site event execution and conference affairs coordination.
Serious attitude, strong sense of responsibility, and teamwork spirit; good at communication, willing to learn, patient and careful; strong ability to withstand stress; familiar with using various office software; experience in film industry or exhibition activities is preferred; American Sign Language International Sign Language Fluent in English Sign Language, strong speaking, literacy or overseas experience is preferred.
Subtitle translation/proofreading
Responsible for the Chinese and English translation and proofreading of the subtitles of the film
Excellent English reading and writing skills and Chinese written expression ability
Have good self-time management skills
Those who have translation experience and are familiar with deaf culture are preferred
Subtitles
Responsible for the production of subtitle files for screening films
Familiar with the use of subtitle production software
Have good self-time management skills
Those who have drilling experience are good
